Phillies Jimmy Rollins Dynamic Warmup Baseball Workout

MVP baseball Hall of Famer Jimmy Rollins of the Philadelphia Phillies and trainer to the 'stars' Aaron Sistrunck discuss how to do a 'dynamic warmup'. ""Back in the day your couch would just tell you to go out there and do a jumping jack and then go out there and strech. But you shouldn't really do stretches when your body is cold. Dynamic warm-up is really good because: it gets your heart rate up, gets your body warmed up. You have to look at your muscles being like a rubber band, if you just come out of the refrigerator then its going to pop. What you have to do is make sure that you warm the body up, get the blood level up, and the temperature up, and then gradually get your body into doing dynamic stretching, then do the static stretching."" ""You know your blood is starting to move, your muscles are starting to warm up now the elasticy comes, so you can get a real good stretch. After that squats with the twist to loosen them back up. Basically the things you are doing with the movement, because everything you do in sports comes with a movement, nothing is standstill, a change of direction and a turn-back or something, you have to make sure your muscles are all warmed up with those movements to get to the exercises.""
